» Brief History of the Late Pa AGHO who was the 13th Odionwere of Okokhuo Community.
Late PA AGHO was a prominent Benin Palace attendant. He went with Oba Ovonranmwen to Calabar during the Benin massacre in (1897). He returned to Benin City after Oba Ovonranmwen joined his ancestors 17years later.
During his stay in Benin this time around, he became a building contractor, leading a group of builders. Pa AGHO left Benin City to Idumwehi Okokhuo where his mother had been before his return from Calabar with his siblings.
His mother was a skilled ante-natal midwife. Late PA AGHO took after her mother and became a renowned ante-natal herbalist too. As a result of this, AGHO, at his death had all who benefited from his ante-natal work (including none bini speaking indigenes and tribes) participated actively in his burial ceremonies.
These none indigenes included Igbos, Urhobos/Isokos, kwale, Calabar, etc from Ekiadolor up to Agekpanu and other neighbouring villages , camps and Hamlets performed the Benin traditional isoton rites for the late PA AGHO.
He was survived by two wives i.e Late Mrs Ode and Mrs Ehiozomwangie AGHO who is the Grand daughter of the late Igbedion of Okokhuo.
Late PA AGHO begoted the late PA Asiriuwa AGHO, Pa Charlie Ugbo AGHO, Mrs Omondamwen Oke, Mrs Ighede Edobor, Mr Daniel AGHO, Mrs Iserienrien Omoruyi and others.
Pa AGHO became the 13th Odionwere of Okokhuo Community and served between (1958 - 1964).
HE WAS AN EPITOME OF HUMILITY AND RESPECT.
Also worthy of note was the outstanding humility that Pa AGHO displayed when he willingly gave Pa IYEKEKPOLO (His predecessor) the chance to be installed Odionwere before him.
Pa observed that Pa IYEKEKPOLO was actually his Junior in the village hierachy and Community service, but his senior by birth.
He therefore relinquished his turn to be coronated the Odionwere for Pa IYEKEKPOLO who then served (1934 - 1958)
He had his tenure after the demise of Pa IYEKEKPOLO.
Late PA AGHO ruled between (1958 - 1964).
