HOW TARMAC GUYS SAVED ONE OF THEIR OWN FROM BEING LYNCHED
Tarmac boys at the popular Tarmac, Ogun state's computer Village, situated in the Ibara Axis of Abeokuta South LG Area of the state, today saved one of theirs from a mob action.
In the early hours of Tuesday, a group of auto- mobile mechanics and others chased a bit tattarred looking young man from the back of P&P bakery, across the busy Obafemi Awolowo Road and succeeded in catching him, accusing him of trying to kidnap a child.
Within a tickle of an eye, Slaps, punches descended on him, as he struggled to free himself from the hold of his pursuers.
He was accussed of trying to kidnap a child of a shop owner very close to the workshop of the mechanics.
But the timely intervention of some t tarmac boys was his saving grace.
In droves, they quickly ran after the pursuers, while some were shouting' Don't you see that this guy is not ok mentally"? " He is not well" "leave him" One of them, with his two hands, jacked the person who held the young man.
From the blues, one of the tarmac guys gave the young man a deafening slap and dragged him along with him.
The scenario became a shouting match and would have degenerated to a fight.
A source, while narrating the genesis of the young man predicament, said
" His name is lekan, he was a well-known cobbler in the Tarmac for the past seven years, Infact, he was the second person to be on this tarmac space before the arrival of others. His current situation is as result of drugs, Colorado to be precise. He made good solid shoes for me in the past, that was why, I ran after his pursuers to take it easy with him as he is a mentally disturbed person.
" Look at his space over there, it has just been sold to another occupier for 300k. He lost his mother recently and it was the tarmac guys who succeeded in finding him to be at his mother's burial.
" I think he was sometimes rehabilitated, and he became an Okada rider, doing fine and looked chubby, only for us to learnt that he has started mingling with some boys again. On many occasions, he had met me, abused me" Olofo ni e Jo o" but I always overlooked him, knowing that he was not like that before" the source concluded.
