The Rude Rich Girl Episode 6 (A woman like Devil)
Life on the street was extremely difficult for I and my siblings but in any situation you find yourself in life, we still give thanks to him. I know very well that many people are still praying to be in this my situation atleast, but they are not opportuned.
I keep thinking and asking myself that will my mum be free from this captivity? Are we going to ever be a happy family again? Sometimes, I look at the family picture placed right on top of our small Television and remembered Life when my father was still alive. Back then, we eat what we want anytime we want it. My siblings and I will wait for my father to come back from work, then we will all have a family dinner. Despite being a driver, He took care of his family and I took a liking in Honourable Grey Oladunjoye back then but after what He had done for our family by enslaving my mother, I hated him with passion. I don't just hate him, I hate everything that has to do with his damn name.
When my father was alive, i had a dream and I don't even see myself dreaming about any other thing than my own real dream. Even after my father's death, I still had faith but cheif Oladunjoye shattered my dream by helding my mother captive because of the money my parents borrowed from him to sponsor my own education.
[Crying] Now all I do is strive hard with my younger ones on the street in order to survive. I managed and managed to till they finished their secondary school. At the end of the month, we will put together our income and do necessary things by paying debts that has been owed during the month. We buy little foodstuff to reduce food expenses, we must deduct money for Taiwo's monthly drugs. Yes, Taiwo is an asthmatic patient and you would always see him with an inhaler. Kehinde and I made sure He was not doing a stressful work.
The twins at eighteen always wanted mum to be around them and put them through and since my mother has been held captive by the useless Honourable Grey Oladunjoye, I tried my best possible to play the role of mum and dad over them.
Don't forget that i studied Mass communication and my GPA was 4.9 which means I came out with a first class. My dream is to fight corruption in this country and make every citizen of this nation know the good and bad eggs and I am still having it in mind to reveal atleast one bad news about Honourable Grey one day.
It was the end of the month as usual and I was working happily because we were going to receive our pay cheque. Every attendant working in the filling station were Gisting since we were all in a good mood. Some cars drove into our filling station which I guess is for one person. The cars were extremely expensive and smallest one there is a range rover. At the moment those cars entered our filling station, I was attending to another car entirely. Like I said earlier, they were five cars and each of them stopped by each fuel attendant to get fuel. The car that came to me waited behind the car I was attending to.
The other car I was attending to after filling the car wanted to also buy in a keg and while I was selling the keg, the driver of the second car came out on suit looking good.
Driver: Young man! You should attend to this car before anybody.
Me: Pardon? I don't quite catch that.
Driver: Are you deaf? I said you should attend to this car before anyone else.
Me: I am sorry, I can't do that. You met this car here. So you wait patiently for your turn.
Had I know? I wouldn't have say anything. The driver opened the door to the owner's corner and a very young beautiful lady came out. She looked at me from head to toe and covered her nose.
Lady: Now listen, I am going to say this just once. Take that pipe away from that keg and fill my car.
The owner of the car i was attending to came out and faced the young lady.
Woman: Young lady! Please I am sorry for delaying, he would attend to you now.
Lady: You shut up old lady, I am not talking to you.
Woman: What? What a rude little bit*h you are?
On hearing the word, all the guys on suit rushed towards them but the lady stopped them.
Me: Please, there is no need to fight, you are both customer and....
Before I finished my statement, she gave me two hot slaps on my right and left cheek because I addressed her as customer. I was about to say something when two of the guards on suit removed a gun and pointed at me.
Lady: [Turn to everyone] Call out your manager this minute.
One of the attendant rushed in to call the manager and the manager came out and met with a wild scene. Guns were still pointed behind me and the other guards had pursued the other woman out of the fuel station.
Lady: Manager! I don't know the kind of staff you employ here. He disrespected me and called me an ordinary customer.
Manager: We are extremely sorry for the inconveniences ma, please forgive us.
Lady: I am going to forgive you on one condition. You have to sack this guy this minute.
Manager: Am sorry ma'am but do we have to do that? He is going to apologize to you very well, He is one of our best staff here who has the best customer's approach.
Lady: Best customer's approach and He treated me like this? You must be a joker. You are going to sack him.
Manager: Please ma ..... Pardon ...
Lady: [Cuts in] You will do as I say Manager. My father is Honourable Grey Oladunjoye. Will you sack him now or your fuel station be closed down with a phonecall and trust me, you will not open it again. So what do you say?
At this point, I knew it was over for me and the manager won't have any choice. Honourable Grey can command anything from anywhere. But i was wondering how Honourable Grey have a beautiful daughter whose innermind is as dirty and ugly unlike her physical appearance.
"I... I will leave manager. Please let me just have my salary for this month. I don't want to put you in an uncomfortable position" I said shaking vigorously because of the gun behind me. The manager counted my thirty-five thousand naira for me and I was still scared to move an inch.
"I have marked your face you wretched pauper. For daring to stress me, anywhere I set my eyes on you, you are going to suffer. Just pray we never cross path again. Now get the hell out." The lady said and I ran out of the fuel station for my dear life.
The question is where am I going to start from? I was on my way home with a sad mood walking on the street like someone that is homeless. On getting home, my sister was cooking and she sensed my mood. On entering the room, Taiwo and Kehinde greeted me and I answered them slowly.
Kenny: Big bro! What is the problem? You look dull, talk to us.
Me: I have been walking my whole life, something happened today.
I narrated everything that happened to my younger ones and they were shocked because they've never heard or seen such before.
"This lady is a woman like Devil" Taiwo said as they both Comfort me.
